Fetal Biometry at 36 Weeks

We recommend that all pregnant women undergo fetal biometry (measurement of the baby’s size) at 36 weeks of pregnancy. It may happen that the baby’s growth slows down or stops in late pregnancy, while the abdominal size still appears normal. There is no other way to detect this except through an ultrasound examination that measures the baby’s parameters. If detected in time, we may recommend inducing labor earlier to prevent damage to the fetus or even fetal death.

During a routine prenatal visit, the ultrasound examination will be performed by Dr. Helcl. It is not covered by health insurance. The price is 350 CZK.
